Sarah Grace Patrick is reportedly scheduled to appear in court Monday morning in Carroll County as attorneys prepare for the start of her double murder trial next month.

Patrick, now 18, is accused of killing her mother, Kristin Brock, 41, and her stepfather, James Brock, 45, inside their Carrollton home in February 2025. She faces charges that include malice murder, felony murder and aggravated assault.

Judge cites flight and safety concerns

During a previous bond hearing, prosecutors argued that Patrick remains a potential flight risk because of the severity of the charges against her and the possibility that she could leave Georgia if released. They also raised concerns about witness intimidation and pointed to the family's connections outside the state.

Family members of the victims urged the court to keep Patrick behind bars, telling the judge they fear for their safety if she were released.

Defense attorneys proposed strict conditions, including limits on communication and technology use, but the court determined those restrictions would not sufficiently address the concerns raised by prosecutors.

Trial still on track for August

Patrick's trial had originally been scheduled to begin earlier this summer but was delayed while prosecutors completed a forensic neuropsychology report.

Despite the postponement, the judge emphasized that the case is still moving quickly compared with many other murder prosecutions and said he intends to avoid additional delays.

Monday's hearing is expected to address remaining pretrial matters as both sides continue preparing for what is likely to be one of the region's most closely watched cases of the year.
