The Brief The Pentagon has identified the two U.S. Army soldiers who were killed in action last week during an enemy attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, Jordan. 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii was killed in action on July 18 and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, was killed in action on July 17. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said they were defending the base from ballistic missiles and drones launched by Iran.



The Pentagon has identified two U.S. Army soldiers who were killed last week who were killed in action last week during an enemy attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, Jordan.

In a release, the Pentagon says 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii was killed in action on July 18 and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, was killed in action on July 17.

Feehan was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 55th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 32nd Army Air Missile Defense Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Gonzales was assigned to 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 52nd Air Defense Artillery Brigade, 10th Army Air Missile Defense Command, Ansbach, Germany.

Details of the attack, outside the use of ballistic missiles and drones, were not released.



Several other service members were also injured, and the military said one person was missing and  unidentified remains  were found Sunday and were being examined.

U.S. service member killed in Iraq

A U.S. service member was killed in Iraq on Saturday during what the Pentagon says was the  controlled detonation  of a downed Iranian drone. The service member's name has not been released.

The death of a U.S. Navy pilot in a helicopter crash earlier this month in the Arabian Sea has brought the U.S. military's official tally of deaths in the Iran war to 14, with the Pentagon classifying it as a non-hostile death.
