Daniel Evans was found dead at his home on Friday morning, according to the department. He had been on the force for 24 years. We ask that you keep his wife, Danielle, his family, friends, and his brothers and sisters in blue in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time, the department said in a statement. Georgia Rep. Mike Collins, whose 10th District encompasses Winder, also took to social media to offer his condolences to the police department.
