WALKER COUNTY, Ga. - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested a former sheriff's deputy Thursday on charges including computer theft and unauthorized disclosure of criminal records. Former Walker County Dep. Amadou Diaw, 33, of LaFayette, Ga., faces charges of computer theft, computer trespass, violation of oath of office, misdemeanor obstruction and unauthorized disclosure of criminal history record information. The Walker County Sheriff's Office requested the GBI to open an investigation on Sept. 30 following allegations that Diaw misused the Georgia Crime Information Center database. Officials determined that Diaw illegally obtained criminal history records from the database and distributed body camera footage and photos from active law enforcement investigations. Agents arrested Diaw on Thursday and booked him into the Walker County Jail. The investigation remains active. Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact the GBI tipline at 800-597-8477, submit a tip online through the agency's website or use the See Something, Send Something mobile app. Once the GBI completes its investigation, the case file will be turned over to the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office for prosecution. 2026 Cox Media Group #wsbtv #crimewatchatlanta
