ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Hall County woman accused of killing a 4-year-old girl last October is expected to enter her plea in court on Wednesday.

Jessica Motes faces several charges, including malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, concealing the death of another and first-degree cruelty to children. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

At 9 a.m., Motes will be arraigned, meaning her charges will be read and she will plead guilty or not guilty. Atlanta News First will stream the court proceedings live.

On Oct. 26, 2025, Autumn Fox's body was found inside the trunk of a car parked at a Sam's Club in Oakwood. Motes is accused of subjecting the child to blunt force trauma, breaking her arm and exposing her to fentanyl, methamphetamine and xylazine, a veterinary sedation drug.

Authorities have not commented on the relationship between Motes and Fox.
