ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Four people were injured in a northwest Atlanta shooting Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

Atlanta police said the shooting happened on the 600 block of Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard NW, in the Bankhead neighborhood.

An Atlanta News First crew saw police gathered near a food mart and several other businesses, and crime scene tape set up along both sides of the street.

Witnesses told Atlanta News First they heard five gunshots, then came outside and saw four victims lying on the ground.

Witnesses said they saw three victims lying in the food mart parking lot, and that the fourth victim ran to a nearby home.

Police have not specified the severity of the victims' injuries, what led up to the shooting or if they've identified suspects.
