ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - DeKalb County police said a man was shot Wednesday night after a child found an unsecured gun.

Officers responded to the scene around 8 p.m. and found the man, who is in his early 20's, with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he is expected to survive.

No charges have been announced in the case.

DeKalb County police said the department offers free gun locks that can be picked up at any of the four precincts.
