ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Officials are searching for a missing man believed to have fallen into Lake Sinclair near the Putnam County and Baldwin County line.

Both counties' fire departments and sheriff's offices, alongside the Baldwin County Public Safety Dive Team and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, are helping with the search. Divers are canvassing underwater, while more crews are driving boats equipped with sonar.

The incident happened near the railroad trestle by Halsam's Marina. Boaters and other lakegoers are asked to avoid the area as the search continues.

The man has not yet been publicly identified.

 We ask that everyone keep the missing individual, his family, and all emergency personnel involved in this operation in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,  the Baldwin County Public Safety Dive Team said in a statement.
