Arnell Holmes has been charged with first-degree murder, especially aggravated robbery, employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. His bond has been set at $500,000 and he remains in police custody pending more court proceedings. This case stems from an incident in a December 2, 2023 homicide of Emmijal Bevill. Holmes was arrested in Cordova in February 2026 after a warrant was issued for him. The Shelby County District Attorney's Office alleges that Holmes was responsible for the homicide in addition to the other violent offenses related to this incident.
