TIPTON CO., Tenn. (WMC) - Sheriff's deputies arrested a preschool assistant at Austin Peay Elementary in Tipton County following an alleged assault of a child.

Christina Burk, 43, is accused of assaulting a non-verbal child while at her role at the school.

Tipton County Sheriff's Office opened an investigation into Burk in April after a complaint about an alleged assault was filed to the school resource officer.

Burk is the second arrest made in the case. Last month, authorities arrested 23-year-old Katherine Turnbow.

Details around the incident have not been made public.

Burk was charged with assault and is free on a $5,000 bond.
