New details surrounding the deadly shooting of a man while he rode a Divvy bike in Chicago's Grant Park earlier this month were released on Tuesday during a court hearing for a suburban teenager facing a murder charge for the crime. Eliel Argudo-Tenorio, an 18-year-old from Oak Park, appeared in court for a detention hearing a week after he was arrested at his home and charged with one count of first-degree murder for the deadly shooting of 27-year-old Malik Jones, Chicago police said. Jackson Street. Argudo-Tenorio and several others exited the cars involved in the caravan and began hanging out and drinking on the sidewalk, prosecutors alleged. Prosecutors said several Chicago Police Department POD cameras captured the caravan arriving and the events that led up to the shooting. Around 12:13 a.m., Jones can be seen on the surveillance video riding a bike on Lake Shore Drive before turning westbound onto East Jackson Drive, prosecutors said. Jones then continued west on East Jackson Drive in the direction of the group. Argudo-Tenorio can be seen on the video at 12:14 a.m. retrieving a handgun from the front passenger window of one of the cars in the caravan before immediately pointing it at Jones, who did not know Argudo-Tenorio or any of the people involved in the caravan, prosecutors said. Jones can then be seen riding away from Argudo-Tenorio after he pulled out the gun before he exits the view of the camera, prosecutors said. Argudo-Tenorio then walked toward Jones and out of the camera's view before firing the gun, prosecutors said. Jones was struck once in the right thigh. Prosecutors said Argudo-Tenorio then put the gun back into the car before he and the others involved in the caravan all got back into the cars and fled westbound toward Michigan Avenue.
