The Denton Police Department and the FBI are expected to provide an update Tuesday on the disappearance of 42-year-old Marjulin Briceño Arrieta, who police say has been missing since Sept. 28 when she was known to have left work around 5 p.m. to meet her estranged husband.

A release announcing an afternoon press conference from Denton Police Tuesday also mentions Arrieta's estranged husband, Richard Pastor Perez.

In an earlier news release, Denton police said Arrieta's family was concerned for her safety because of a history of violence and stalking by Perez.

Police said attempts to contact both Arrieta and Perez were unsuccessful, with calls to both phones going directly to voicemail.

On Monday night, community members gathered for a prayer vigil at North Lakes Park in Denton, hoping for Briceño Arrieta's safe return.

A mother is missing. Three kids don't have a mom right now. That's what we should be focusing on as a community, said vigil attendee Denisse Carrera.

As the search continues, the community has rallied around Briceño Arrieta's three children, ages 21, 18 and 9.

According to reporting by NBC 5's sister station Telemundo 39, community members have provided food and financial assistance to help the family cover expenses. Donations helped the children pay their rent this month after losing the financial support their mother provided.

But for Briceño Arrieta's children, the support cannot replace having their mother home.

I have lots of hugs and lots of people around me, but I don't feel the same because I don't have my mom's love and warmth with me, her daughter told Telemundo 39 in Spanish, translated into English.

The family is asking anyone with information about Briceño Arrieta's disappearance to contact Denton police.

The family is hoping someone in the community may have information that could help locate Briceño Arrieta.
