The Brief More than 16,000 Hatsan Blitz and Blitz 777 air rifles sold between 2020 and 2026 are being recalled because of a misfire hazard. Owners must stop using and unload the rifles and contact the manufacturer for a free trigger assembly replacement. One misfire has been reported, but the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says no injuries have been reported. Two models of air rifles manufactured by Hatsan are being recalled because they can fire unexpectedly when the bolt is released before the air rifle is fully cocked, according to the U.S. Product Safety Commission. What we know: The recall includes approximately 16,170 Hatsan Blitz and Blitz 777 air rifles, that were sold in store and online at various sporting goods stores and gun shops nationwide. The pellet air rifles are gas-operated and select-fire pre-charged pneumatic, and come in .22, .25 and .30 calibers. They are black and feature a synthetic stock, a carbon fiber air tank mounted beneath the barrel and a rotary magazine feed. Serial numbers and manufacturing dates are engraved on the right side of the receiver above the bolt. On the left side of the receiver is the Hatsan logo and the model name BLITZ or BLITZ 777 is also marked on the left side of the receiver. Recalled guns were also sold at hatsanairgunsuse.com and catalog sales including Utah Airguns, Airgun Depot and Pyramyd Air. The guns were sold between February 2020 and March 2026 at a cost of between $800 and $1,100. What they're saying: The recall advisory from the CPSC urges owners to stop using the recalled air rifles immediately and make sure they are unloaded. The agency said it received one report of an accidental misfire, but no injuries were reported.
