A North Dallas couple says they are leaving their apartment just two weeks after moving in because it was burglarized three times in less than two weeks.

Mac and Kenz Flannery say they have lost nearly everything they owned after repeated break-ins at their apartment at North Star Apartments on Forest Lane.

 The door was locked, so we didn't immediately suspect anything was wrong. And then noticed that the TV was gone pretty quickly. And then once that was obvious, then it was immensely apparent that someone had been in here. Everything was gone,  Kenz. Flannery said.

The couple had been out of town for a gender reveal celebration. They say they are expecting their first child, a girl. Flannery is 16 weeks pregnant.


After discovering the first burglary, the Flannerys say they notified apartment management and stayed in a hotel because they no longer felt safe.

 The complex never sent security or anybody out to be securing the unit for us. We'd been coming back every couple of days just ourselves to check in and see if anything else had happened or whatever. And everything was fine until we came back on Saturday,  she said.

When they returned, they said additional items had been stolen, including their stove, washer and dryer.

A third burglary the following day pushed their estimated losses to nearly $100,000.

 I have to go through the entire identity protection process. They've taken our passports, our marriage certificate, my Social Security card. I'm pregnant. They've taken our ultrasound photos,  Flannery said.

The couple says thieves also took jewelry, a coin collection, a baseball card collection and many everyday belongings.

 I mean, pretty much everything but the seven boxes that remain just here has pretty much just been taken of our personal belongings,  Mac Flannery said.

The Flannerys also say they repeatedly contacted apartment management after each burglary but saw no additional security measures.
