SOUTHFIELD - Christian Cook, a 29-year-old Southfield woman reported missing since Sept. 13, has been located safely at a local hospital, police said.

Southfield Police Department said Cook is currently receiving appropriate medical care. Authorities thanked community members and everyone who helped share information during the search.


Police had previously described Cook as a  voluntarily missing endangered adult.  Cook was last seen around 1:30 p.m. Sept. 13 near Southfield. Police said she has bipolar disorder and frequently walks near Eleven Mile and Inkster roads.

Search efforts included the Southfield Drone Unit, the Lapeer County Search Rescue Team and a K-9 team, which tracked Cook's scent toward the Rouge River. The search was suspended Sept. 16 after no additional signs of her were found.
