An 11-year-old boy was shot in the area of Artesian Street and Tireman Avenue on Detroit's west side on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

DETROIT - An 11-year-old was shot on Detroit's west side Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The shooting happened on Artesian Street near Tireman Avenue on Oct. 7. The severity of the child's injuries is not known.

Detroit police are expected to provide more details on the shooting at 4 p.m.

Local 4 was at the scene and saw a person being arrested. It's not clear if the arrest is connected with the shooting.
