se to the Request for Investigation which provides a timeline and identifies all those responsible for this loss including my former office manager and the probate attorney appointed by the probate court who was ordered to secure the residual funds on behalf of the children and never did. I have never knowingly taken any monies from any client ever, but the account was in my name making me ultimately responsible for any loss, Rohl said. I wish only the best for Tabitha and her family. Lillian's loss was horrific and this nightmare just compounds their loss. (See Rohl's full statement at the bottom of this article) What happened to Lilliana? Kerr's 3-year-old daughter, Lilliana, died Jan. 20, 2017, when a 350-pound cafeteria table fell from its wall casing at the Head Start program at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Dearborn Heights. She left behind a twin sister and a brother - and a community in shock. I have to live with it every day. My kids have to live with it every day. My family has to live with it every day. While the world goes on, she's 6 feet in the ground, said Kerr. Her oldest child, Jayden, is 19, and Lilliana's twin, Tieranie, is 13. Their entire childhood has been watching me fight our government to get accountability. These kids have never seen justice, Kerr said. Not once. Local 4 has followed Kerr's fight for a law that addresses school safety . She has testified in Lansing. She has also gone door-to-door to get signatures in support of the law. What is Lilliana's Law? For nearly 10 years, Kerr, now 39, has worked as a safety advocate, pushing for Lilliana's Law in Michigan. The proposed legislation would require annual health and safety inspections at public and private school facilities and establish a statewide registry for school safety incidents. Kerr's grassroots efforts have included collecting nearly 32,300 signatures to persuade lawmakers to pass the bill and producing a 510-page research book about risks to children in schools in Michigan and across the United States. My daughter dies and now this, Kerr said on the More Than Just Luck podcast, hosted by Greg Wier. We don't know the needs and the conditions of our schools, Kerr told Local 4. We can hopefully create an adequate framework to address the cause and effect of the dangers of our schools and what our children are facing to minimize the harm and the loss our children and our families have been facing. We can all agree that safety is the No. 1 concern, Rep. Ryan Berman (R-39) previously told Local 4. And that is where our dollars should go to. Berman is one of the lawmakers to introduce the current version of Lilliana's Law. It would require school boards to inspect schools for health and safety violations. The massive effort has continued through years of grief and frustration for Kerr. Kerr said the pain can feel like having an abyss being swallowed into your chest. Her friends, Leslie Windless and Gina Pence said they've watched her endure both the horrific loss and the brutal ongoing fight. To see her fight so hard, and then something like this happened to her… it's really hard to watch, Windless said. Not many people survive once they lose a child, let alone move forward and decide to push not one but two laws in an attempt to save the rest of our children, Pence added. What is Rohl's legal history? Rohl previously worked on Dr. Jack Kevorkian's litigation defense team with attorney Geoffrey Fieger in the 1990s, before opening his first law office in Novi in 1994. His disciplinary and legal history also include a 2024 reprimand for improperly supervising employees, which resulted in a five-year delay in providing a client with settlement funds she was entitled to receive. In 2021, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel filed a motion for sanctions against four attorneys who filed a lawsuit of unproven claims about the November election on behalf of several Trump supporters. Nessel, along with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, asked for the disbarment of attorneys Greg Rohl, Scott Hagerstrom, Stefanie Juntilla and Sidney Powell be disbarred. When you stop caring about facts and you introduce things that are a total and complete fiction, you ought to be held accountable, Nessel said. In response, Rohl said in part, It's drama at its best. You've got to understand that this was already done by the Democratic Party that intervened in this lawsuit a month ago so she's just riding coattails, I guess to embolden herself with her party, Rohl added. In 2016, Rohl was suspended and convicted of disorderly conduct and malicious use of telecommunications services. Kerr said she began contacting authorities after Rohl's disbarment. She said that on Oct. 5, her birthday, she called two county prosecutors, two county attorneys general and more than 10 law enforcement jurisdictions, including state authorities and the marshal, but kept getting the runaround. Hopefully, by today, I will hear from my lawyer and see if anyone gives a damn about my kids because my kids didn't do anything wrong, she said. You can put me down underneath a building, I don't care. Kerr said she promised Lilliana she would keep fighting. I promised my daughter that I would fight until my very last breath and unfortunately, I'm still here, fighting, Kerr said. It's more cost effective to sacrifice our children than to fix the problem.
