A Houston woman has been charged with manslaughter in the fatal stabbing of Houston rapper Krystal Jordan, better known as Judy World, according to court records.

Kayla Wynita Rodgers, 28, of Houston, has been charged with manslaughter in connection with fatally stabbing Jordan with a knife on July 11.

Jordan, 28, performed as Judy World and Play Girl Judy, and was part of Houston's independent rap scene.

The stabbing was reported just before 10 p.m. on Saturday at an address in the 11900 block of Bat Sheva Lane, according to a report from the Houston Police Department.

Houston police say a bystander was performing first aid on Jordan when officers arrived. Houston Fire Department responders transported Jordan to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Rodgers was arrested at the scene without incident and booked into the Harris County Jail with a $100,000 bond, according to court records. An attorney for Rodgers has not been confirmed yet, according to the Harris County Public Defender's Office.


Fan reactions to her death flooded the comments on her Instagram page. A GoFundMe page established by Jordan's sister to help pay for funeral expenses had raised more than $7,000 in donations as of Monday afternoon

Keiara Walker said the death has left her family  shattered  and Jordan's 10-year-old daughter without a mother.
