A Dickinson police officer rescued a driver from a burning vehicle on Interstate 45 after arriving near Exit 19 around 2:56 a.m., pulling the occupant from the car as flames spread from the engine.

DICKINSON, Texas - A Dickinson police officer rescued a driver from a burning vehicle early Wednesday morning after emergency calls came in about a major crash on Interstate 45.

Officer Brown arrived near Exit 19 around 2:56 a.m. and found flames coming from the vehicle's engine area. As the fire spread toward the passenger compartment, Brown located the driver and pulled him from the vehicle before moving him to safety.


Dickinson police later determined the crash occurred within League City's jurisdiction. The League City Police Department is handling the investigation

The Dickinson Police Department praised Brown for his quick response and courage. No information about the driver's condition was released.
