A man linked to three shootings across the Houston area was found dead in the back seat of a vehicle after a police standoff on Houston's north side.

HOUSTON - A man linked to three shootings across the Houston area was found dead inside a vehicle Friday after a police standoff on Houston's north side, according to the Houston Police Department.

The standoff unfolded near the 5000 block of Cochran Street, where HPD led the response with help from Pasadena police.


Police said the shooting spree began around 6 a.m. in Pasadena, where the suspect allegedly shot his wife.

Investigators said the suspect then drove to Splendora, where another woman was shot around 9 a.m. Police believe that woman may have been the suspect's girlfriend.

About an hour later, police say the suspect allegedly shot a man twice, once in the face and once in the hand, in the parking lot of a Burger King on the 6200 block of East Freeway, in the Denver Harbor area.

Authorities said all three shooting victims were taken to area hospitals and are in stable condition.

Pasadena police later tracked the suspect's vehicle to 4800 block of Cochran Street in Houston.

A tactical team responded to the scene and found the suspect dead in the back seat of the vehicle with what police described as a gunshot wound.

Investigators are still working to determine the exact relationships between the people involved and what led to the shootings.

The investigation remains ongoing.
