BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas - The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about a scam targeting families of people who are currently or were recently in custody. Officials say callers are posing as sheriff's deputies, probation officers, county clerks and other criminal justice employees. These callers are demanding electronic payment for bonds, ankle monitors or breath-testing devices. The Sheriff's Office says it will never solicit money by phone or electronically. Residents who receive such a call should hang up and contact the agency's non-emergency line at 979-864-2200. #click2houston #crimewatchhouston
