Malik was booked into the county jail Monday, but on the day of the welfare check, Malik was unconscious and needed to be intubated at an area hospital. His bond was set at $500,000 on each charge at a probable cause hearing in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Malik's public defender said he wasn't able to afford his bail or an attorney and was taking medication for psychological conditions.

Malik was charged with bodily injury in 2014, court records show, and the case was disposed after Malik completed supervision terms.

He is scheduled to appear in court again Oct. 12.
