A 14-year-old riding his scooter at Tidwell Park in northeast Houston was shot Tuesday night, according to the Houston Police Department.

He was in stable condition, and three suspects - either young adults or older juveniles - were taken into custody, Lt. Larry Crowson said. He said police intended to file criminal charges later that night after contacting the Harris County District Attorney's Office.

Police did not immediately return a request for comment Wednesday morning.


Daylight was shining when the shooting occurred, Crowson said. Robbery investigators responded to the scene, and the scooter was not yet recovered Tuesday night. All three suspects were armed with handguns, he added.
