Kufta was arrested by the Collier County Sheriff's Office in Florida in 2022 after allegedly sending a lewd Snapchat photo to a minor, according to the sheriff's office, and he allegedly claimed he was going to the girl's hotel in Naples to  rape her.  He was required to register as a sex offender in Florida, according to court records, but not in Texas.

Law enforcement transported Kufta to Harris County overnight, where he's expected to appear before a magistrate Friday afternoon. Bond has not yet been set. The second-degree felony carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.
