Two years after a Baytown woman went missing, a Harris County grand jury indicted her boyfriend for her disappearance on an aggravated kidnapping charge in connection with her disappearance.

In April 2024, the Baytown Police Department received a missing persons report for 29-year-old Kalie Goodwin after her mother received a call from an unknown person demanding money. That June, authorities charged 39-year-old Quan Flowers after investigators said they found evidence he assaulted her before she went missing.

Baytown police said the aggravated kidnapping indictment was an  important step toward holding the offender accountable. 


 This indictment is a significant milestone in our pursuit of justice for Kalie and her family,  said Chief of Police John Stringer. Goodwin was last seen leaving an apartment complex one evening in a car with a person that police have not identified, according to the police department.

Detectives later investigated a CashApp account, that Goodwin's mother was told to transfer money to just before the missing report was filed. The owner of the account had a registered vehicle that was the same car Goodwin was last seen in.


The vehicle owner told law enforcement that Flowers had the car when Goodwin went missing.

While detectives were investigating Goodwin's disappearance, Houston police arrested Flowers for the unrelated killing of 24-year-old Megan Rouse. Baytow
