Los Alamitos police Thursday looked for a man who entered a high school campus to look through bicycle racks before stealing an electric bicycle.

The alleged theft happened on June 8 at around 10 a.m. when the suspect rode an e-bike and entered the Los Alamitos High School campus.

Surveillance cameras captured the suspect looking through the bike racks before stealing a black 2021 ZOOZ Ultra Urban 1100 e-bike equipped with a gold chain and Hookworm tires. He left behind the black Jasion e-bike he came with and took the one that's worth $1,500 as well as a helmet.

The suspect was last seen leaving the school campus westbound on Cerritos Avenue, police said.

Investigators described the man with medium length brown hair slicked back with a possible tattoo on his inner right forearm.

The e-bike he had initially rode may also have been stolen as it had its lock cut, police said.

Authorities asked the public to reach out if they recognize the man in the released images.
