A Garden Grove police officer was arrested and placed on administrative leave following an investigation into possible inappropriate interactions with a minor participating in the department's Explorer program, authorities said Thursday. Garden Grove Police said investigators were notified on Friday, June 26, of possible inappropriate interaction(s) between Officer Roberto Machuca, 32, and the juvenile female explorer. WATCH HERE WATCH HERE On the morning of Saturday, June 27, investigators arrested Machuca and booked him into the Orange County Jail, according to the Garden Grove Police Department. Machuca was relieved of his duties as a police officer and placed on administrative leave. The safety and security of our youth volunteers remains a top priority, the Garden Grove Police Department said in a statement. Investigators were not releasing the minor's age, but the program's minimum age requirement is 14 years old, according to Garden Grove police Sgt. Nick Jensen.
