Two men were behind bars on Monday in Ventura County after authorities arrested them for running an organized theft operation that targeted luxury cars across Southern California, the Ventura County Sheriff's Office said Monday.

Brandon Taylor, 27, and John Ivy, 39, are accused of stealing several high value vehicles, including a 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, estimated to be about $105,000, and a Lamborghini Aventador valued at $450,000.

The Ventura County Sheriff's Office said the investigation began when the Corvet Stingray was taken from a Thousand Oaks dealership during the early morning hours of May 19.

As investigators followed leads through search warrants, evidence and undercover operations, they learned a  much larger criminal enterprise  was behind the vehicle thefts. Authorities also believed the suspects used fake registration forms and license plates and altered vehicle identification numbers to conceal their crime.

The two-month probe, including an coordinated operation with LA County authorities, led to North Hollywood and Los Angeles where detectives seized a number of items associated with vehicle theft operations, including blank temporary license plates, high-end vehicle key fobs, fraudulent vehicle documentation, electronic devices and other evidence related to the investigation, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

The total value of stolen vehicles is over $1.3 million, officials said.

The stolen cars that were recovered by authorities include:

Lamborghini Aventador valued at approximately $450,000

Porsche 911 Carrera valued at approximately $240,000

Porsche 911 Targa valued at approximately $240,000

Chevrolet Silverado 2500 valued at approximately $70,000

GMC Hummer valued at approximately $100,000

BMW X7 M60i valued at approximately $110,000

Ford Shelby GT500 valued at approximately $89,000

Chevrolet Colorado valued at approximately $35,000
