A 19-year-old Coachella Valley man was arrested on suspicion of distributing marijuana to minors, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.

Manuel Guerra Meza, 19, of Coachella, was in possession of marijuana products to sell them to minors, the sheriff's office said on Friday.

The department's Thermal Station began its investigation in May into an individual who was  selling various illicit substances, targeting juveniles throughout the Coachella Valley,  according to the sheriff's office. Investigators then identified Meza as a suspect in the case.

On Friday, sheriff's deputies found Meza driving in Cathedral City and were able to arrest him without incident. A search warrant was served at a Coachella home on the 86000 block of Calle Geranio in connection with the case. There, deputies found marijuana vape pens, psychedelic mushrooms, a gun with an altered serial number and about $25,000 in cash.

Meza was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center and faces charges that include furnishing marijuana to a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, and willful harm to a child.
