DESOTO CO., Miss. (WMC) - DeSoto County Sheriff's Office says scammers are impersonating law enforcement.

DCSO says there's an active scam where impersonators are claiming people have missed jury duty, have a warrant, or owe fines.

These scammers are looking for potential victims to send them money through popular money apps.

The sheriff's office will never request money over the phone.
