MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a shooting sent a teenager to the hospital in critical condition on Sunday.

Detectives are working to find out more after deputies responded to a shooting call just before 5 p.m. in Northeast Shelby County.

When they arrived on the scene, deputies found a teenage boy suffering from a gunshot wound. They immediately began rendering aid on the scene.

The Shelby County Fire Department soon arrived and transported the victim to Regional One in critical condition for treatment.

The SCSO said that this is now an active investigation.
