An arrest report said that there was also rooster paraphernalia, which included vitamins, syringes, medication and rooster agitators. As detectives continued to investigate, Ponce-Maqueda was found in an RV that had several roosters enclosed, a training ring and an agitator, the report said. Ponce-Maqueda, the report said, said he didn't own the roosters, but cared for them and would feed and give them water regularly. He was then detained. During their search of the property, detectives found Oliva, who, after being told his Miranda rights, said he was the property's owner and was aware of all the roosters on the property, the report said. Oliva, the report said, insisted that none of the roosters were being fought on the property and told detectives he no longer fights game fowl, but admitted that there was a fighting arena, training, rings and agitators on the property that are no longer used. Although Oliva originally said he claimed ownership of all the game fowl on the property, he then recanted and said he only claimed ownership of some of the game fowl, the report said. At the fighting arena, the report said, there were seats for spectators and a board that showed team wins and losses. Examine the rooster also showed signs of possible fighting because some of them had missing feathers, were injured, had trimmed combs and their natural spurs were removed, the report said. Ponce-Maqueda and Oliva were then arrested. Earlier in October, three people, including the property owner, were #nbcmiami #crimewatchmiami
