One killed, 28-year-old in custody after crash in Milwaukee Police say the crash happened just after 9 p.m. near West Congress Street and West Appleton Avenue near Columbus Park.

One person is dead and a 28-year-old is in custody after a serious crash in the Arlington Gardens neighborhood Friday night.

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the crash happened just after 9 p.m. near West Congress Street and West Appleton Avenue. The 28-year-old involved in the crash was driving southeast on West Appleton Avenue, while the 27-year-old in the other vehicle was traveling north on the same street.


Police say the two vehicles collided at the intersection of West Congress Street and West Appleton Avenue.

The 27-year-old driver was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police took the 28-year-old driver into custody, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
