Man accused of killing mother of his child during custody exchange in St. Francis Charged with first-degree intentional homicide and stalking, a Milwaukee man allegedly killed his child's mother after a custody handoff in St. Francis.



A Milwaukee man is facing charges of first-degree intentional homicide and stalking after he shot and killed the mother of his child. The fatal shooting happened July 16 around 6:29 p.m. outside an apartment complex on South Packard Avenue in St. Francis.

Randall Alexander Lenyard Sr. is accused of killing 32-year-old Kiana M. Pliska.




A Deadly Custody Exchange

According to the complaint, police responded to the scene after receiving multiple 911 calls about gunshots. Officers found the woman on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. She died from her injuries at Froedtert Hospital.

The court records say a witness told police she saw a man standing outside a black vehicle. She stated the man hesitated, walked to the passenger side, made a  downward motion with his arm and fired his gun.  The man then walked around the car and shot the woman three more times before fleeing in a blue sedan with a child in the back seat.

Lenyard's sister told police that Lenyard had been stalking Pliska for months. That day, Lenyard and Pliska met at their former apartment to exchange custody of their son.

The complaint says the man admitted to the shooting after police responded to reports of gunfire outside an apartment complex.

Confession and Child Handoff

According to the complaint, after the shooting, Lenyard texted his sister, saying,  I shot her.  When she called him, he stated,  I f-ing shot her. I lost my s-. I can't do this s- no more. I'm about to do this to [my son] and myself, 

Lenyard also told his sister,  She saw me pull my gun out. She got out of the car and started to run, so I shot her. She started screaming so I knew she was still alive, so I just kept on shooting her. 

Lenyard agreed to give the child to his sister at a Walgreens at 60th and Burleigh streets. He told her,  I'm getting the f-k out of here because I don't want t
