Milwaukee police officer charged with sexual assault, disorderly conduct A Milwaukee police officer has been charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct after a woman told police he groped her without her consent outside a South Milwaukee bar, according to a criminal complaint. The complaint alleges the incident happened around 2 a.m. on Sept. 21 outside the Taproom on Milwaukee Ave. A witness told officers she saw patrons trying to escort Nathan Enk out of the bar before he approached the woman and grabbed her breasts, the complaint says. The woman told officers she did not know Enk. She said he repeatedly tried to kiss and touch her and told her she was going home with him, according to the complaint. Enk denied groping the woman during an interview. He stated, nobody groped that (expletive), I slapped that (expletive's expletive), according to the complaint. The Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office charged Enk on Oct. 5. If convicted, he could face up to nine months in prison and a $10,000 fine for the sexual assault charge, and up to 90 days in prison and a $1,000 fine for disorderly conduct. The Milwaukee Police Department said it learned of the allegation in September and that Enk was arrested by the jurisdiction where the incident occurred. He has been on full suspension since Sept. 21. He has been with the department for more than seven years. This incident is concerning and falls short of the standards the community expects and deserves, said Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman. We expect every member of the Milwaukee Police Department, sworn and professional staff alike, to conduct themselves with the highest level of integrity and professionalism. Any violation of department policies or the law will be addressed appropriately. We also recognize that all individuals have the right to due process and are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. #wisn #crimewatchmilwaukee
