Family of 11-year-old critically hurt in hit-and-run while riding his bike demands accountability The driver stopped and brought him to his house, but then police say he took off. Eleven-year-old Logan's family is heartbroken after their little boy was hurt in a hit-and-run. That is my baby in there ... that is my baby, said Rebecca Krutina. Logan is in the intensive care unit after being critically injured in the accident. You had enough care for him to bring him back to us because you knew he was hurt, but then run ... why, said Krutina. The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office says Logan was hit while riding his bicycle in a trailer park off Port Washington Road in Grafton. The driver stopped and brought him to his house, but then police say he took off. I still have the images of him in my arms, blood spewing out of his mouth and his eyes rolled back, said Brian Reifenstuhl. Thirty-seven-year-old David Sitar is in jail facing multiple felonies. Prosecutors say Sitar was in a work van for Finishing Edge Carpentry when he hit Logan Friday evening, just after 6 p.m. A license plate at the scene helped investigators track the van, and Flock cameras located it in Kenosha. Detectives say surveillance video showed Sitar going to a Kwik Trip after the crash to buy alcohol. Take responsibility for your actions, said Krutina. The next day, officers found Sitar in a motel in Lake County, Illinois, and arrested him. Logan is a sixth-grader and competes in martial arts. His instructor is helping to raise funds for medical expenses. We know this is going to be a long process for him and his family; they will need as much help as they can. We want to help every step of the way, said Hoff. I just pray he gets beyond this and recovers. He's going to need a lot of help, said Krutina. Logan remains in critical condition at Children's Hospital. Doctors tell Logan's family it will take him several months to fully recover. #wisn #crimewatchmilwaukee
