The shooting happened on West Scott Street, in the Walker Square neighborhood. Milwaukee police said officers responded to a report of shots fired at about 9:21 p.m. Sept. 30 near 15th Street and West Greenfield Avenue. Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman said when officers arrived, residents flagged them down and pointed toward people leaving the area on dirt bikes. Officers followed the group to an alley near Seventh and West Scott streets. While investigating the source of the gunfire, officers saw a masked person carrying a rifle, police said. That person ran from the scene. Norman said an officer tried to stop the person and repeatedly ordered him to drop the rifle. The officer then shot him, according to police. Officers recovered the rifle next to the injured teen. The injured teen, who was identified by his father to WISN 12 News as Jouthem Rodriguez Lacourt, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. His father said he had been shot in the leg. Prosecutors charged Rodriguez Lacourt with felony second-degree recklessly endangering safety, resisting or obstructing an officer and possession of a dangerous weapon. The officer who discharged his duty weapon during this incident is a 26-year-old man with more than three years of service. The officer was placed on administrative duty as is routine in an officer-involved shooting investigation. #wisn #crimewatchmilwaukee
