Judge tosses out child sex abuse indictment against actor Timothy Busfield An order has been granted by the courts to dismiss Timothy Busfield's indictment on four counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor. The counts were brought up in connection with alleged abuse occurring on the set of The Cleaning Lady while filming in Albuquerque. Busfield is an actor known for roles in films such as Revenge of the Nerds, Field of Dreams, and Quiz Show, and television appearances on The West Wing and Thirtysomething. Busfield was previously indicted by a grand jury back on Feb. 6, 2025, with the court now ordering that the indictment be dismissed. The reason for dismissal is said to be that during the grand jury proceeding, jurors repeatedly requested additional witnesses, but the prosecutor gave an incomplete explanation of subpoena requirements and imposed unsupported voting procedures that effectively prevented those witnesses from testifying. The court found that the prosecutor failed to act fairly and impartially, compromising the structural integrity of the grand jury process, and prejudice was assumed as a result. The dismissal of the indictment does not mean an acquittal, and the state may initiate new criminal proceedings. The district attorney's office said they have received the order and are evaluating their options to determine how they will proceed. #wisn #crimewatchmilwaukee
