Milwaukee teacher charged with sexually assaulting students Antonio Kitchens, 26, served as the band and drumline teacher for several years Above video: Milwaukee police arrest Rufus King teacher accused of sexually assaulting 3 students Prosecutors on Monday charged a Rufus King High School band teacher with multiple counts of sexual assault involving students, according to a criminal complaint. Antonio Kitchens faces two felony counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff and one count of attempted sexual assault. The charges stem from incidents reported at the high school between October 2025 and October 2026. Allegations of misconduct Kitchens, who served as the band and drumline teacher for several years, allegedly isolated male students in the school auditorium under the pretense of discussing their grades and absences. According to the court document, Kitchens would sit next to a student, place a laptop on the student's lap, and use the back of his hand underneath the device to touch the student's genitals over their clothing. One student told investigators he froze during the first encounter. He reported that the abuse kept happening, leading him to avoid the band program entirely. The student believed the teacher targeted them because they are the kind of people to be quiet. Students come forward The allegations surfaced after one student confided in a friend and later an orchestra teacher. Another student realized the conduct was not accidental after asking his peer, Has anything ever happened with you and Mr. Kitchens? The peer replied, You too? A third student described a similar encounter in May 2026. He stated he would move away, and the Kitchens would also adjust to try to find his privates. The student told investigators he had enough, got out of the chair, and walked out of the auditorium. Ongoing investigation The school principal confirmed teachers receive specific training prohibiting them from being alone with students behind closed doors, not touching them, and not texting them aside from communications through #wisn #crimewatchmilwaukee
