'I'm remorseful and sorry': Packers' Josh Jacobs returns to practice after arrest and plea The Packers running back was removed from the NFL commissioner's exempt list earlier this month. Packers running back Josh Jacobs told reporters Wednesday he is remorseful and sorry following his arrest and no-contest plea to misdemeanor battery and criminal destruction charges. The charges stemmed from an arrest at his home in May. Obviously man, I'm remorseful and sorry for putting this team in the situation, Jacobs said. Sometimes, when you go through life, situations occur. And a four second- three second decision can alter your life. Jacobs returned to practice for the first time Wednesday following his removal from the NFL commissioner's exempt list. He missed the first six games of the Packers season, but is eligible to play Sunday's game against the Lions. I'm still a human being, man. Still trying to learn, still trying to grow from the whole process, Jacobs said Wednesday. Background Jacobs was accused of throwing his girlfriend to the ground and damaging her phone on May 23 in an incident at his home. The Packers running back pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges against him. He took a plea deal for battery and criminal damage to property. Hammer sentenced Jacobs to a $1,000 fine on the battery charge. Jacobs entered a deferred judgment for the criminal damage to property charge. The court will dismiss that charge after a year if he does the following: Commit no further criminal acts Avoid contacting the victim Submit to CJS for supervision for the next 12 months Complete a course for battery Pay restitution to the victim Prosecutors relied on video from Jacobs' residence, saying in the criminal complaint it corroborates ...the relevant portions... of the victim's statement. Records being temporarily held The Hobart-Lawrence Police Department is temporarily withholding records related to the case while legal challenges over their release are pending. The department said it completed its review and determined some records could be released #wisn #crimewatchmilwaukee
