A 24-year-old Brooklyn man was shot to death about a block away from the Coney Island boardwalk Wednesday morning, cops said. Truron Roach-Martin was shot in the face and chest near W. 28th St. and Surf Ave. about 9:20 a.m., police said. Medics rushed him from the scene near the Riegelmann Boardwalk to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he died. Roach-Martin lived in Bedford-Stuyvesant, according to cops. No arrests have been made. The number of people wounded by gunfire in the 60th Precinct, which encompasses Coney Island, Sea Gate and Brighton Beach, is up 40% this year, with seven people shot through Sunday as compared to five wounded during the same period in 2025, NYPD stats show.
