NYPD Harbor units will be out in both the East and Hudson Rivers for the Sail4th250 events on Saturday morning, which will include the largest parade of tall ships in American history - with each passing ship giving off a 21-gun salute. They will also be out that night for the Macy's largest ever fireworks display set to feature more than 850,000 explosives, a laser light show and multiple fireworks barges.

With so many water events, the NYPD is coordinating with both the U.S. Coast Guard and the Navy, Mamdani said.

Those wanting to attend the Sail4th250 or fireworks events, can't bring large bags, lawn chairs, coolers or anything that will block anyone view, Tisch said. Everyone is encouraged to take public transportation, with the MTA supplying additional trains.

The Brooklyn Bridge will be closed to traffic for most of the day Saturday, Tisch said.

The weekend will end Sunday with multiple street closures throughout Midtown in preparation for a FIFA World Cup game.
