Piacenti graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied political science and sang in an a cappella group, the Penn Dischord, according to the fundraiser.

Her solo performances -  Love Me Harder  and  Break Free  by Ariana Grande, and  Hold My Hand  by Jess Glynne - were posted to the a cappella group's YouTube channel in 2014 and 2015.

Piacenti graduated magna cum laude from Fordham University School of Law, where she met her husband, a fellow student, and was inducted into the school's Order of the Coif, according to a statement released by Fordham Law Dean Joseph Landau.

 Erin was a vibrant and cherished member of the Fordham Law family. During her time at Fordham, she distinguished herself through her academic devotion, sharp legal mind, warmth, and generosity to her peers,  Landau said in the statement.
