A 32-year-old woman was arrested for stabbing a man in the back with a syringe in Manhattan's Diamond District in an antisemitic hate crime spree. Anna Mochalova was held on $50,000 bail at her Manhattan criminal court arraignment on Sunday after she was charged with assault as a hate crime, aggravated harassment and criminal possession of a weapon in the stabbing of a 26-year-old victim, dressed in traditional Hasidic garb, with a syringe walking on W. 47th St. near Fifth Ave. about 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday. She allegedly stalked the victim, following him across the street. The victim started to feel a sharp stinging sensation to the back. He suffered a laceration and substantial pain from the incident. It was not clear if the syringe contained any liquid. Five minutes later, Mochalova, wearing all black clothing, black shoes, a jacket with brown faux fur, and a backpack, approached another man who was wearing a yamaka on West 45th St. and Fifth Ave., coming up behind him and stabbing him in the right arm with what is believed to be a syringe, prosecutors said. Run away from here, I have a gun, I am going to shoot you, Mochalova allegedly told the victim in Russian, according to court documents. Mochalova then approached a third man and asked are you Jewish? before the man said he was muslim, at which time she apologized to him. Mochalova was due back in court on October 10. #nydailynews #crimewatchnewyork
