A man has been arrested for setting his pregnant ex-girlfriend on fire in front of the couple's 11-year-old daughter during an argument in Brooklyn, police and prosecutors said on Monday. Kenneth Rickenbacker, 44, was charged with attempted murder, assault, weapons possession and endangering the welfare of a child in Brooklyn Criminal Court. Rickenbacker threw rubbing alcohol on his 38-year-old ex-girlfriend and set her on fire as their child watched in horror inside an apartment in the Kingsborough Houses NYCHA complex in Crown Heights around 5:11 p.m. Saturday, cops said. The victim suffered severe burns to her face, hands, shoulders and back and is in a medically induced coma at the Weill Cornell Hospital burn unit, according to court documents. The victim is pregnant, a police source with knowledge of the crime said. The couple's daughter told cops that Rickenbacker threatened her and her mother with a knife before the incendiary attack, according to court documents. Rickenbacker was convicted of criminal weapons possession in 2017 and was released on parole in 2024, state records show. He is being held without bail. #nydailynews #crimewatchnewyork
