 Chris was suitably proud of her descendants' achievements,  the obituary read.  But she was delighted when they questioned, defied, or cleverly engaged authority.

Both Ben and Casey, who are award-winning actors and directors, have gushed over their mom's support of their careers over the years.

 My mother was really supportive,  the latter told Boston Magazine in 2006.

The following year, Ben credited his mom with getting into acting, explaining to Parade that  a friend of [hers] was a casting director  so he  got into acting … as kind of a lark.
