Christopher Nicks has died following a private battle with cancer at the age of 72.

The younger brother of Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks passed away while surrounded by his family on Friday, his daughter, Nixi Parkinson Nicks, announced via Facebook.

 Some of you may know that he has spent the last 2.5 years battling a cancer diagnosis, and to some this may come as a shock,  she wrote.

 If this is news to you, please know it was because he never wanted people to worry about him that he kept this to himself,  Nixi continued.

Nixi emotionally shared the  mark  the patriarch had left  on so many people,  adding,  This will leave many more than his immediate family with a piece of them missing. 

 I know I speak for my dad when I say that his friends, his lost boys, meant the world to him,  she continued, referring to his close circle.

Christopher was mourned by his ex-wife and Nixi's mom, Lori Perry-Nicks.

 We will all miss him, in so many ways,  she wrote in the comments section.

 He was an anomaly … And they certainly broke the mold when they created him. There will never be another one like him … I miss you already,  Lori added.
