ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Washington University campus police worked with other agencies Thursday to simulate their response to an active threat on campus.

The training comes as data from Everytown for Gun Safety shows that gunfire on school campuses has nearly tripled in the last decade. At least six deadly shootings have occurred on college campuses since 2022.

Washington University campus police conduct active threat training twice a year - once during the summer and once over winter break.
