EAST ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The Metro East community announced plans for resources after a mass shooting killed 5 people and injured 2 others.

The five people killed were identified as Patricia May, 74; Cheri May, 49; Devin May, 24; Quentin Thompson, 21; and Shania Thompson, 25.

16-year-old Jamier Davis is facing 12 charges as an adult, including five counts of first-degree murder. Davis had his first court appearance Wednesday morning.

The other person arrested in connection with the mass shooting is a 15-year-old girl, referred to as  WT,  who is related to all of the victims.

Community health worker Chris Hodges said he has been working with the family to provide help since the morning after the shootings.

 It was heartbreaking. I went straight to their home. I went straight to their vehicles. I went straight to doing a face to face. It wasn't a I'm going to schedule you in. I'm on my way to meet you now with community health workers so they know we are there to help them,  Hodges said.

On Wednesday faith leaders, East St. Louis city leaders and police departments came together to educate the community on the behavioral health resources available.

 Our city is mourning the loss of members of one family whose lives were taken in an act of violence that has deeply impacted our community and our region,  city manager Robert Betts said.

Wednesday evening the House of Prayer to All Nations Church held a prayer vigil for the victims. Pastor Anthony Pettiford said Patricia May had been a member of the church for 50 years and other family members had also been involved for decades.

 Prayer, healing and different things like that on one side. We have a community center right next door. We have professional counselors and crisis counselors that are gonna be there also,  Pastor Pettiford said.

Pastor Pettiford said he got a call from family immediately after the tragic shootings.
