ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A fatal vehicle crash in Kirkwood shut down westbound Interstate 44 in the early hours on Friday.

The crash was between a tractor-trailer and a car, and happened in the westbound lanes near Sappington Road. One person has died and another was taken to the hospital.

The crash happened at about 12:30 a.m., and the road reopened around 4 a.m.
